Strawberry Dog Hat

For personal use - please do not sell or reproduce this pattern. Tag me in your completed project - I would love to see it! :)
This pattern can be adjusted for smaller or larger sizes, as instructed in each section!

Materials

Yarn: Medium worsted, or light weight yarn of your choice. I used Hobbii Friends Cotton 8/8 in the colour 40 (red), and 108 for the green. Each skein is 82 yards, and I used a full one for the red, and small amounts of the green. I also used scrap yellow for the seeds.
I like using cotton because your hat can double as a cooling-hat in the summer! Just pour some cold water on there and the cotton will absorb it and keep your doggo cool.
Hook: Your yarn’s recommended hook size! For worsted, I used a 5mm. For Light, I used a 4mm.
Yarn needle
Stitch Marker
A button, for the chin strap.
I used the strawberry one which you can find in my Amazon Storefront: https://www.amazon.ca/shop/highlevelbandanas/list/WLTW976QNTPO?ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d

Abbreviations

Ch: Chain
Sc: Single Crochet.
HdcInc: Half-Double Crochet Increase (2 Hdc in one stitch) Dc: Double-Crochet
Blo: Back Loop Only
Flo: Front Loop Only
*__*: Repeat contents the indicated amount of times

Note

This will be crocheted in the round, from the top down. As we are doing the flat circle, you’ll notice the increases offset. This is to keep the circle circular and not angular! The total number of stitches per row is included in parentheses at the end of each row. Place a stitch marker at the start of each row. ALSO: I realize I keep saying “dog”, but this works for any other animal, too!
